A Worthy Challenge

Few things in life approach being as rewarding and challenging as parenting. Having kids changes everything! As has been noted suddenly there's a piece of your heart running around outside your body and as time passes outside your control...

Whether your a new parent or a seasoned veteran there's always plenty to learn. Even wise grandparents remain life ling students as they teach, pray for and counsel their children and grandchildren.

With so much at stake we can use all the help we can get. May God
"grant us the wisdom to know the right, the will to choose it and the strength to make it endure" for generations to come. The following is a list of excellent resources we hope will be of value.

  • Entertainment Reviews: Focus on the Family provides reviews on everything from TV and movies to video games and music.
  • Teen Rebellion: Youth specialist Tim Sanford encourages parents to realize that children always do things for reasons. He explains that many times parents don't know the real reason behind a teen's behavior. He says, "God didn't make us random beings, so our behavior (even rebellious behavior) is stemming from a reason. It's important to get to the ‘itch' (core reason) behind the ‘scratch' (outward behavior or attitude)."
  • Protecting Your Daughter's Purity: Looking at ways to protect our daughters from sexualizing messages from the media as well as we must examining ourselves to see if perhaps we have propagated this damaging message.
