Daily Prayer

It's been noted that prayer is as essential for a Christian as breathing. If so the lack of prayer today among believers is serious indeed. Believe that He is...

As in all of life there are rules or directives in seeking God. Many New Testament passages address this vital topic such as the following verse:

"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." Hebrews 11:6

While "believing that He is" may have many connotations, certainly "mental assent" that
God exists and is the God of the Bible is a must for Christians.

...A Rewarder

This verse along with thousands of the Bible's promises offers encouragement that God notes and responds to our legitimate efforts to seek Him.

Certainly prayer ranks among the top ways to do so. Then why do literally billions of prayers seem to go unanswered for days, months, years and even decades? At Solomon's dedication of God's temple didn't God send fire from heaven, fill the ediface with His glory and promise the following:

"If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek Me face and turn from their wicked ways then I will hear from Heaven, forgive their sins and heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14

...of those who Diligently Seek Him

God did audibly make that promise to Solomon and His people. Yet notice this
Perfect Formula for Repentance requires four steps of real effort on our part including turning from our wicked ways.

Here we confront a glaring problem demonstrated by prayerlessness, as well as many other indicators. Almost to person the modern church lacks the
appropriate and due dedication or Diligence when it comes to pursuing and pleasing God.

Without Prayer We Haven't Got One

The reasons for prayer are nearly as numerous as are issues to pray about. These include but are not limited to the following:
  • A reasonable response to the realities of human existence
  • A desire to know and please our Creator
  • To organize and express our thoughts and feelings
  • To seek relief from anxiety and fear
  • To obtain Divine help in times of need
  • To petition and thank God for resources
  • To intercede on the behalf of others
  • To understand why we are here
  • To comprehend the eternal consequences of life
