Great Prayer Needs.......
Few things in life weigh as heavy on our hearts as the needs of those facing risks in our families. While saturating our loved ones in prayer, many feeling the prompting of the Holy Spirit and scripture to broaden their concerns to include those suffering within the family of God as a whole.
As members who make up the body of Christ on Earth it may well be said that we are Jesus' hands extended to one another and the world at large. Scripture often directs us to remember others as if we were in their shoes. The following are just a few such verses:
"Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!" Romans 12:14-15
"Stay on good terms with each other, held together by love. Be ready with a meal or a bed when it's needed. Why, some have extended hospitality to angels without ever knowing it! Regard prisoners as if you were in prison with them. Look on victims of abuse as if what happened to them had happened to you." Hebrews 13:1-3
There's plenty to rejoice and weep about all around us. This is even more true given the marvels of modern media. Today the average person knows more about with what's happening on the other side of the world than previous generations knew about the lives of those only a few hundred miles away.
Praying About Great Needs
Prayer can bring change on many levels. Once it changes the hearts of those praying anything is possible. When it comes to ushering in miraculous levels of God's power, provision and protection one thing is certain. Without prayer we haven't got one...
